The Old Town Hall is a complex of several ancient houses connected together. In the 1300s the councillors of the Old Town bought a large patrician house from the Volflin family for this purpose (right). It bears an inscription "Praga caput regni" which means Prague, the capital of the kingdom. The other building that really stands out in Prague's Old Town Square is the Church of Our Lady before Tyn with its two dark towers (left). We had seen this from a distance when exploring the Castle grounds earlier in the day.
